VEGAN CHEESE & ONION SCONES

MAKES: 12 Scones

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
3C Ceres Organics White Flour (or use Orgran gluten free flour)
4t Chantal Naturals Baking Powder
1t Ceres Organics Garlic Powder
1t Ceres Naturals Sea Salt
1t Pepper
1 White Onion – diced
100g Angel Food Cheddar Cheese – grated
½ C Canola Oil
1 ½ C Isola Bio Soy Milk (swap for All Good Oat milk to make soy free)

Vegan Cheese and Onion Scones Recipe

WHAT TO DO:

Preheat your oven to 180⁰C on bake

Grab a large bowl and whack in the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt n’ pepper. Give it a mix

Stir in grated cheese and diced onion (I like to microwave the onion for 2 minutes first to soften it)

Add the oil and milk and mix until combined, it should be stodgy, you may need to add milk or flour

If you’re a scone pro (i.e. my mum) flour your bench top and hands, then knead the mix until it’s around 2-3cm high. Cut into squares or use a glass or cutter for the shape you like. Bake these on a lined or greased tray

OR

If you’re not available for all of that (i.e. me) just scoop the mix into greased muffins tins, straight from the bowl. No kneading needed (heh) and bake them this way

Bake for 12-15 mins keep an eye on them
